Staying on top

Okay, here goes with trying to stay on top of my movie watching....
I did watch Easy A again, I just liked it a lot. Other movies I watched this week that I'd seen before:"The Secret"(2006), [inspiration for the new year, right?], "The Namesake"(2006) [looooove this movie!; it makes me cry every damn time!!], "Airheads" (1994) [too ridic to not get a kick out of it]

I've also seen "What Have I Done to Deserve This?" (1984), but that was a few years ago. Enough to make me forget and add it to my Facets movie queue. I love Almodóvar! What can I say? I find it interesting that there was a small amount of mysticism/magic to the movie with the character of the little girl. And Almo looooves to have his women kill their lousy husbands. Hmmmm... ;)

"Despicable Me" (2010) Yes, I fiiiinally got around to seeing this movie. I liked it. Had a very limited cast, it seemed. I mean the banker and Vector and their connection really 'upped' the drama in a way. You understood people's actions more; it put them into more perspective. I really liked Pharrell's addition to the soundtrack as it wasn't typical, cheesy-ness and had a beat I was trying to dance to ;)

"Tees Maar Khan" (2010) Had to have some Bollywood in my life. This film was waaaay over the top, more so than most B-wood flicks. But it wasn't overly gushy in romantic terms as many are, but in silly terms. And there was only one character who was 'sane' throughout the whole thing, and he was a pawn. We saw the main character had a love interest, but she was used as a means to his goal. It was pretty goofy, a little more so than usual. But dance scenes are always nice, with their brilliant colors, but sometimes it seemed like they were completely mocking themselves. Ah, such is life. Why not make a goofy movie if you can? I would. ;)
